This is what we do at the Gold Coast Clay Target Club:
Competition Days
Monthly Sporting Comp held 1st Sunday of every month.
Monthly DTL Comp held 2nd Sunday of every month.
Monthly American Skeet Comp held 3rd Sunday of every month.
Monthly ISSF Comp held 3rd Sunday of every month.
Monthly UT Comp held 4th Saturday of every month.
Practice Days
The club is open regularly for practice. Contact the club to confirm opening times.
However usually: Thursdays Trap Only 10am – Noon.
Friday Trap & Sporting 10am-2pm
Saturday 1pm – 4pm
Come & Try
We have Come & Try Days most Saturdays from 1pm – 4pm. Please call our Club Office or check our webpage for more details.
Firearm Safety Courses
Our Club conducts regular Safety Courses by an external agency, either at our club grounds or at Southport on the Gold Coast. Contact Details are available at the club on request.

Our Club has fully qualified Competition & Club Coaches for all disciplines
Corporate Events
Yes we have a Corporate Event Team that caters for birthdays, bucks and hens days and end of year functions. Contact the club for details and prices.

American Skeet
American Skeet is a popular clay target shooting discipline where shooters aim to break clay targets launched from two machines—one from high and one from low positions—across a semi-circular shooting layout.
Down-the-Line Trap
A beginner-friendly clay shooting discipline where targets are launched away from the shooter in a predictable pattern.
Olympic Trap (ISSF)
An intensely challenging international discipline featuring 15 randomly selected target paths launched at high speeds from underground bunkers.
Sporting Clays / 5 Stand
Often called "golf with a shotgun," this discipline simulates hunting scenarios with varied target presentations across multiple shooting stations.
Universal Trench
Universal Trench is a popular choice among shooters who enjoy variety and challenge, and it serves as a great training ground for those looking to progress into higher-level trap disciplines.

Queensland has a proud history of success in clay target shooting at national and international levels. Through our state team selection processes, we identify and support Queensland's top shooters to represent our state at National Championships and other prestigious events.
About us
Our Club is situated on Gross Road, Woongoolba and officially opened on 18th January 1991. Before then, since 1950, we had several locations, but unfortunately development in these areas seen us move to where we are today. We also had some name changes over the years, including Gold Coast & Albert Clay Target Club, Gold Coast Gun Club & South Coast Gun Club. Now we are proud to be called the Gold Coast Clay Target Club and are a formative club in QLD, inclusive of many Clay Target Disciplines. Our club is open for practice for members of Gold Coast Clay Target Club, Sporting Clays Australia (S.C.A.) and S.S.A.A. Members.
Saturday Practice 1:00pm. to 4:00pm – Sporting 5 Stand and Trap and Skeet. Olympic Trap 10.00am.to 1:00pm. Please contact Paul Santarossa at the club number to confirm availability. Club Phone Number (07) 5546 1368
Unlicenced shooters, returning shooters, individuals and family groups can avail themselves of Come and Try shoots from 1.00pm most Saturdays, depending on the availability of qualified instructors. The Come and Try option includes a safety briefing, ear plugs, eye protection, use of a suitable club firearm, ammunition and a negotiated number of targets. Please be aware that this activity is very popular and there might be some wait time involved dependent on the numbers wishing shoot this program.
The club can arrange a voucher for Birthday, Father’s Day, Family Challenges or other special occasions. Contact the club if you would like to explore this option.

Yes, of course and you will be warmly welcomed. The best time to see the Club in action is on a Saturday from 1.00pm to around 3.00pm when most disciplines are operating and a friendly volunteer will be available to answer any questions. It is always best to call ahead on Saturdays.

Current Qld Regulations require a child to be 11 years of age before shooting

If you are willing to try and concerned of recoil we have smaller firearms and low powered ammunition. Our experienced coaches ensure you enjoy the experience and are there to supervise and help. Very few beginners don’t hit at least one target – most come back for more!

We are a safe, shooting environment that offers five disciplines! We cater for all suitable age groups. We have around 400 members and we try to always live up to our Motto – Great Members, Targets and Fun!
