Queensland has a proud history of success in clay target shooting at national and international levels. Through our state team selection processes, we identify and support Queensland's top shooters to represent our state at National Championships and other prestigious events.
About us
Welcome to Chinchilla Clay Target Club, a friendly and vibrant club located in the heart of Western Queensland—just 3.5 hours west of Brisbane. Our club is a proud part of the Chinchilla community, offering a welcoming environment for shooters of all levels, from first-timers to seasoned competitors.
We’re home to six fully equipped DTL layouts, catering to competition, practice, and social shooting. As an ACTA-affiliated club, we warmly welcome all registered shooters travelling through or looking for a great place to compete, practice, or simply enjoy the sport.
Our members are easily recognised by their signature watermelon-coloured vests, a symbol of the fun, friendly, and down-to-earth spirit that defines our club.
One of the highlights of our calendar is the famous Chinchilla Annual 3-Day Carnival, held every year on the October Long Weekend. This iconic event attracts shooters from across Queensland and beyond for three action-packed days of great shooting, camaraderie, and country hospitality.
For those keen to give clay target shooting a go, we open our doors to the public on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening of every month—excluding State of Origin nights, of course (we know our priorities!). Whether you’re a curious newcomer or someone keen to get back into the sport, these evenings are the perfect chance to have a go in a safe, supportive environment.
At Chinchilla Clay Target Club, it’s all about great shooting, good company, and a healthy dose of country spirit. Come join us—you’ll be glad you did.
