Established in 1899 as the Charters Towers Gun Club, we’re one of Queensland’s oldest clay target clubs—with a proud history that stretches back over a century and a community spirit that’s stronger than ever.

Just 4km from the heart of Charters Towers (or “Charlies Trousers” to the locals), the Charters Towers Clay Target Club blends rich heritage with modern facilities and a warm, country welcome. Whether you’re into the clays for fun, competition or just the camaraderie, we’ve got something to suit every shooter.

Our club caters for a variety of disciplines with:

3 x Down the Line (DTL) Layouts – all wheelchair accessible,

2 x American Skeet Fields, and

1 x 5-Stand Sporting Clays Layout.

We’re proud to offer inclusive and accessible facilities, including 2 recently installed disabled amenities blocks, and thoughtful layout designs that ensure all DTL fields are wheelchair-friendly—because clay target shooting should be for everyone.
