About us
The Burdekin Clay Target Club is located in Mount Kelly, just outside Ayr in North Queensland. It is part of the Burdekin Shire and easily accessible for locals and visitors travelling through the region. The club operates primarily on Sundays, with practice sessions often held on Saturdays before scheduled shoots.
🎯 The Burdekin Clay Target Club is known for its friendly, community‑driven atmosphere and its well‑maintained shooting grounds. As part of the Australian Clay Target Association network, it offers a professional and welcoming environment for shooters of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned competitors. The club hosts regular practice sessions and monthly shoots, giving members plenty of opportunities to refine their skills and enjoy the sport in a supportive setting.
Its rural Mount Kelly location provides a relaxed, scenic backdrop, making it an enjoyable place to spend a day outdoors. The club’s reputation for hospitality, combined with its structured events and strong community ties, makes it a standout destination for clay target enthusiasts across the Burdekin region.
Drive along the Burdekin River on the north side and you will run into our club at a place call The Rocks. Off the highway perched on the side of a hill, we have five DTL traps. We shoot forwards to the River in a Southeast direction. With lots of room for parking and camping it is a great place for the weekend.
