A beginner-friendly clay shooting discipline where targets are launched away from the shooter in a predictable pattern.

We host the Brass Monkey 2-Day Carnival in July each year. To maximise your enjoyment of shooting with frosty mornings, cold temperatures, blazing fires, fabulous wines, gins and warm friendly hospitality. QLD Country at its finest.

Nestled in the heart of Queensland’s Granite Belt, Ballandean Clay Target Club is an inclusive, welcoming, community-driven sporting club dedicated to the great country tradition of clay target shooting.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just starting out, our club offers a safe supportive environment for shooters of all ages and skill levels.
Founded by passionate locals, Ballandean CTC has grown into a go-to destination for clay target enthusiasts across South East Queensland and beyond. With scenic rural surroundings, well-maintained facilities (layouts and club are fully wheelchair accessible), we’re proud to offer a first-class shooting experience in one of the most picturesque parts of the state.
We primarily shoot Trap (DTL) and have four (4) picturesque layouts. Our club fosters a friendly culture where good sportsmanship, safety, and fun come first.
Visitors and new members are always welcome — come and have a go, or just enjoy the action from the sidelines with a cuppa and a chat with a great crew of shooters and supporters.

Yes. All four of our clubs layouts are wheelchair accessible.

There is no doubt, Clay Target Shooting can be an expensive sport when compared to Golf. Have a chat with our team who can steer you in the right direction.

In most instances, we recommend 12 Gauge.
There are some circumstances where a 20 Gauge may be better suited.
This will be something that you can work through with personalised advice.

Our club makes 12 Gauge #7.5 (Trap/DTL) available for purchase. Alternatively, John Vichie Firearms in Stanthorpe sells ammunition suitable for use at BCTC.
